Pure Tussar Banarasi Silk Saree With All Over Zari Meenakari Work
Inclusive of all taxes Β· Free shipping
The elaborate and laborious kadwa weaving , each motif is woven separately as opposed to other Banarasi handloom sarees (also known as βphekwaβ or cutwork saree). In Kadwa sarees, there are no loose threads at the back of the fabric and hence, no cutting cutting is required, Using this technique, many different motifs of different sizes, colours and textures can be woven on the same sari, which is quite difficult to do otherwise. While this takes longer on the handloom, it makes a more robust pattern , which stands out on the fabric.
Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand weaving process. This adds different colours to the pattern apart from the zari.

The saree is absolutely breathtaking. The crimson colour is so deep and rich in person β photos don't do justice. The zari work is incredibly intricate. Wore it for my cousin's wedding and received so many compliments. Worth every rupee!
The quality is outstanding. You can feel the weight of the pure silk the moment you touch it. Delivery was quick and the packaging was beautiful β gifted it to my mother and she was moved to tears. Silkthread has a lifelong customer.
Genuinely gorgeous saree. The GI certification gives extra confidence. The only minor note is that the stitched blouse sizing runs slightly small β I'd suggest ordering one size up. But the saree itself is absolutely perfect.
